Losail International Circuit: Formula 1 Champion Magnussen to Participate in Qatar 1812 km Race

Doha, January 27 (QNA) - Lusail International Circuit announced Monday, the participation of Danish Formula 1 champion Kevin Magnussen, for the first time in the Qatar 1812 km race, which represents the opening race of the World Endurance Championship for the 2025 season, during the period from February 26 to 28.

The switch from Formula 1 to sportscar racing marks the end of a remarkable career for Danish driver Magnussen in Formula 1, where he competed in 185 Formula 1 races between 2014 and 2024.

Ahead of his final Formula 1 race in Abu Dhabi, Magnussen said there are some great races outside of Formula 1 that he has always been a huge fan of. He expressed looking forward to taking on the challenge in one of the most advanced sportscars in the history of endurance racing The World Endurance Championship enters its 13th season stronger than ever, with the Hypercar and LMGT3 categories.

With more than 14 manufacturers competing across eight rounds in Qatar, Italy, Belgium, France, Brazil, the United States, Japan and Bahrain, the World Endurance Championship continues to dominate as the premier race for elite sportscars. (QNA)
